Investment Strategy
At Helios, we believe the current macro-economic environment and capital market volatility will allow the Investment Manager to make opportunistic investments in the form of distressed debt purchases, value-add land or asset purchases, or enter into preferential equity positions within joint ventures with qualified real estate sponsors.
The investment objective of the Helios Capital Management is to generate both income and capital appreciation by investing in off-market, distressed and opportunistic real estate opportunities in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia submarkets. To achieve this objective, the Investment Manager will access opportunities through affiliated and existing relationships, strategic partnerships with recognized real estate investment sponsors, and it's extensive lender relationships.
Target Market
The Mid-Atlantic real estate market has historically outperformed most metro areas due to a well-established labor force anchored by federal and state government employment, lower than average unemployment, and above-average wage and income growth. Further economic diversity includes defense and government contracting firms, professional services, and technology, helping insulate the market from macroeconomic shocks that could disproportionately affect other national markets.
